Sidmouth is one of Devon’s most vibrant seaside towns, with a packed calendar of festivals and events throughout the year. From live music and air displays to walking festivals and garden weekends, there is always something happening along the coast.
If you’re planning to visit for one of Sidmouth’s popular events, staying just outside the town gives you the perfect balance, close enough to enjoy the atmosphere, yet peaceful enough to relax at the end of the day.
Here’s our guide to what’s on in Sidmouth in 2026 and why Salcombe Regis Caravan & Camping Park makes the ideal base.
Sidmouth Jazz & Blues Festival (Friday 22nd to Monday 25th May 2026)
A lively early summer celebration featuring a mix of ticketed concerts and free outdoor performances. The town comes alive with music across multiple venues, creating a brilliant atmosphere for visitors.
Avoid town centre congestion and enjoy a peaceful return to the Salcombe Regis Caravan & Camping Park after an evening performance. Our touring and camping pitches are ideal for a long weekend by the coast.
You can view the full Jazz & Blues Festival line-up and venues on their official website: https://www.sidmouthjazz.com/
Sidmouth Sea Festival (Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May 2026)
A ‘Marine and Green’ themed weekend celebrating Sidmouth’s coastal heritage, wildlife and community spirit. Expect family activities, live music and seafront events.
Perfect for families wanting to combine the festival with coastal walks and time exploring the Jurassic Coast.

Sidmouth in Bloom (Spring to Autumn 2026)
From early spring through to autumn, Sidmouth becomes one of the most colourful towns on the South West coast thanks to Sidmouth in Bloom.
This long-running community initiative sees volunteers and local groups work together to create beautiful floral displays across the town. Parks, seafront areas and public spaces are filled with vibrant planting, giving Sidmouth a real “garden town” feel throughout the season.
One of the highlights is the famous Valley of a Million Blooms, where visitors can enjoy sweeping displays of seasonal flowers including daffodils, crocuses and bluebells earlier in the year, followed by summer planting that keeps the colour going well into autumn.
It’s the perfect time to visit if you enjoy relaxed strolls, photography, coastal walks and exploring Sidmouth at its most picturesque.
Staying at Salcombe Regis gives you the freedom to explore the town at your own pace, while returning to a peaceful countryside setting just outside the centre.
Sidmouth Folk Festival (Friday 31st July to Friday 7th August 2026)
One of the UK’s most famous folk festivals, the Sidmouth Folk Festival draws visitors from across the country for a full week of music, dance and workshops.
As a result, accommodation in and around Sidmouth fills very quickly during festival week. If you’re planning to attend, we strongly recommend booking your stay at Salcombe Regis Caravan & Camping Park as early as possible to secure your preferred pitch.
In previous years, we have even operated a dedicated bus service from the park into Sidmouth, making it easy for guests to enjoy the festival without worrying about parking or town centre traffic.

Sidmouth Regatta & Air Show (Friday 28th July to Monday 31st August 2026)

Staying just outside the town means you can enjoy the excitement of the day and return to a quieter setting in the evening.
